Anonymous: What are the best places to get all seven colours of the Neathbrow?

saint-beau:

Apocyan: Using the apocyanic chesspiece you get from finishing the Coral questline is probably the “best” way to do this, since the chesspiece doesn’t have much other use, while Blue Scintillack is valuable and also pretty useful.

Cosmogone: Propagating Blemmigans is definitely easier than finishing the entire Empire of Hands to get a Ray Drenched Cinder for this one.

Gant: If cannibalism is no issue, getting a Weeping Scar from the Chapel of Lights is very straightforward; just dock in London with high Terror to get some Nightmare’s Strength first.

Irrigo: If you’re lucky, you can get a Skull almost straight away by using your one-time Beginner’s Luck item cache at the Avid Horizon; you have a 50% chance to get a Skull there. Otherwise, getting one from Godfall is probably your best bet.

Peligin: A Hunter’s Eye from the Avid Horizon is basically your only choice here. You can get them from Gaider’s Mourn sometimes too, but that’s way less reliable.

Violant: Violant Ink is the only thing that works here. I think this is also the only way you can even use the ink, so you might want to wait until you can complete the treasure hunt at the Empire of Hands to ensure it’s not wasted. You can also get it by trading red honey at the Empire, or by doing SAY events in Khan’s Heart a bunch.

Viric: A Mirror-Charm from Varchas is the simplest way to fulfil this; sleep at the end of the day so you’re beset by nightmares, then ask the priests at the Temple of Mihir on a return visit to get it.

dyeote: What does the V-shaped sigil of the Correspondence on the Seal of the Red Science translate to? ...or possibly link us to a Correspondence dictionary?

saint-beau:

Very few Correspondence sigils have actual definitions: pretty sure that’s not one of them.

Here are the sigils that do have definitions:

Anonymous: What does each destiny mean, if they mean anything?

saint-arthur:

Gleam: Gleam is the “Happy Ending” metaquality for the few Storynexus games that use them. Hard to really think of something that ties all three Gleam endings together, though; being grumpy aboard the Bazaar, rounding up stragglers after the Liberation and saving the Genial Magician don’t really have that much in common, I dunno.

Gloom: Conversely, this was the “Grim Ending” metaquality. This one has four endings; Giving the Lorn-Flukes a shot at revenge, destroying the Mountain, aiding the Liberation and freeing the Red-Handed Queen. “Grim” is a fair way of looking at them, I suppose, but that doesn’t mean they’re bad endings. The price of freedom is light, after all.

The Curator: Two endings; keeping the Mountain’s power to give to those who merit it, freeing Mr Wines from Parabola. Preservation of the status quo, basically; you’re basically installing yourself as the new Presbyter in the Mountain Destiny, and sending Mr Wines back basically returns the balance of power in London to normal.

Appetite: Three endings for this one: looting after the Liberation, siding with the Captivating Princess after the Liberation, freeing an Infernal Diplomat from Parabola. Pretty much all down to your greed, and the satisfaction thereof.

Backstage
:Two endings: taking all of the Mountain’s power for yourself or freeing yourself from Parabola. Both of these boil down to you installing yourself as a hidden Power in the Neath operating basically on your own.

The Revelation: Two endings: Either you give the Mountain’s power to the world, or annihilate the Lorn-Flukes. Either way, you’re causing a pretty big shakeup in the balance of power, though the Mountain Destiny is probably the bigger one in terms of magnitude.

The Memory: Two endings: dodging Hearts’ question aboard the Bazaar or offering yourself to the Lorn-Flukes to become one of their number. A bit like a more personal version of the Revelation. You’re transformed utterly, but some small amount of your past self still remains. I mean, I guess that statement holds true for basically all the Bazaar destinies, but by prevaricating you show that you aren’t fully committed to any one path yet.

The Road: Two endings; offering redemption to the Lorn-Flukes and peacing out into space on the Bazaar. There is a sea more sunless; both Destinies are basically pointing at your future being full of space hijinks.

Authority: For saying that the Masters are an alright bunch while on the Bazaar. Like a less potent, less secret version of Backstage; your future’s going to involve having some measure of power and dominion over something, I guess, along with the rest of the Masters.

The Instrument: You’ve committed yourself to kicking Hell’s door down with the Bishop, whatever may come of it.

The Oath: After the Liberation of Night, your Spouse is the first thing you think about. And then you decide to work together to stop the Liberation, because you are Fools.

Passion: The Bazaar is a foolish hellcriminal who’s done as many things wrong as it possibly could, but maybe there is something admirable about its trials in the name of love, and maybe there is some small amount of hope that it’s not going to get wrecked.

Torment: You’re gonna get wrecked.
